A year back, a young singer Balachandra and Radio Idli found each other. The result was divine concert in Mumbai with melody that still echoes within us. For those who wish to be enchanted.. we have the recordings right here for all of you. (songs and more in the full post)
An exemplary student of the Kirana Gharana, Bala comes from a family which has been blessed with a constant grace of devotional and classical music. Bala is an All India Radio national award winner and a certified artist. He is currently based in Mangalore with his family.
The concert presented below was totally sponsored by Bala’s listeners on Radio Idli, from around the world. The venue and the occassion was granted by GSB Sabha Kurla Chembur Ghatkopar, Mumbai at the divine stage of Shri Balaji Mandir, Kurla. The occassion was the Prathishta Poornima of Shri Balaji Mandir, which is a center of bhajans (Gurukripa Bhajana Mandali) for GSB samaaj in Mumbai.
