Part 2 – Dr. Kiran Shirlal’s magical rendition
After making listeners spellbound with “Mata Kaalika”, a composition in Raag Adaana, Dr. Shirlal presents to us another divine Raaga which is popularly sung in both Hindustani as well as Carnatic Disciplines.
The Raaga is named Malkauns in Hindustaani and Hindolam in Carnatic. There are quite a few popular old hindi songs based on this Raag which include “Man Tadapat Hari Darshan ko Aaj” – from Baiju Bawra sung by Mohd. Rafi Sahaab.
