Sudeep Shenoy, of team Radio Idli – UK brings to us an exclusive coverage of Diwali Celebrations of Gowda Saraswat Sabha and Saraswat Samaj – UK. The celebrations had Dr Neeraj Patil, Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth, as its chief guest. We bring photographs and videos of few special performances at the event that shows how our brethern celebrate Diwali with great joy in UK.

Late Sri.P.G.Kamath wrote the song “Devaa Tuje…” 25 years ago, in 1985, to include the song in Konkani Geet Chandrika audio cassette brought out by Kerala Konkani Academy. The lyrics of 8 lines are simple Konkani translation of the initial shloka of Ganapati Atharvasheersham starting “Bhadram Karnebhi…”.

That time the singer was a student, Sri. Muralidhar Shenoy from Kochi. Later in 2003, when P.G.Kamath’s anthology of poems titled “POVLLIM” was published, the prayer song was included in the book. And, during the GSB …

The face and voice of young and gifted Shrinivas Shenoy is not new to Saraswat listeners of Mumbai. He hails from a musical family which has been doing Bhajan Seva to the Lord for a very long time. We are glad to bring you videos (5 parts) uploaded by his proud father, from a concert at Wadala Shri Ram Mandir.

The first singer of Radio Idli is here after a long study break. On learning that her fans are waiting, she could wait no more, much to our delight. Archana Kamath is back for all of us with Videos recorded by her father for our benefit.. She performs Omkara Swarupa and Shyam Teri Bansi for our longing ears.

The magical voice of Sunil Kamath, from Mumbai is not new to regular listeners of Radio Idli. This time around Sunil shares with us a successful step in his musical aspirations – two jingles which he recorded and which went live for MTV. Sunil’s high pitched melodious voice with its groovy texture comes out amazingly in the jingles which are featured here with its accompanying video. Here is wishing Sunil, many more recordings and larger success in the music world.

We are glad to feature here, Manu Kamath, a young artist of our community who is known in his circles for his vocal and guitar performances. With a Bachelors degree in Computer Applications, Manu holds Mastery of the Stage. Apart from music, Manu has been doing some great compering, sharing stage with the likes of Amrita Rao. Manu’s proud father Mohan Kamath, shares with us two videos of his performance.

Sanat Prabhu is a young but veteran star of Radio Idli. He has perhaps experimented the most with his voice and tools of technology, all through his hostel room. Sanat has by far made the most innovative use of his voice through his excellent contributions like Kaapi With Sanat (bollywood talk show.. hear it to believe it). We present here a video of his performance, and an audio of a song where he sings Male as well as Female vocals!

“A beautiful walkthrough of the Kodial Teru, with the ambience of the festival, and its people, at the center” is how i would describe the directorial debut of a young Art Director of our Samaaj – Sithesh Govind. The 25 minute video walkthrough of the great festival, with some great visual effects and editing, has been recently blessed and released by Shrimad Sudhindra Teertha Swamiji of Shri KashiMath Sansthan.
