What is the best thing that could ever happen to a 5 inch canvas, in 5 minutes flat? Our answer to that would be “Hues and Tunes” by Vilas Nayak. Here he brings an exceptional and self-developed live performance art of creating a larger than life portrait in just about five minutes. Vilas has been a finalist at “Superstar of Karnataka”. Gowda Saraswath Sabha (U.K.), a registered Charity with the Charity Commission of United Kingdom was established in 1986. The aim of the organisation is to promote togetherness amongst the community members, to make youngsters aware of the richness of the culture and history of the GSB community and the Konkani language. The Sabha raises funds for charitable causes both in UK and India. The Sabha also conducts various Social, cultural and entertainment programs throughout the year. Radio Idli spent a memorable week leading to the 75th Rama Navami celebrations at Shri Ramanjaneya Devasthana, Vile Parle. The temple is one of the oldest Saraswat Temples in Mumbai, founded by a Great Saint Shri Laxminarayan Maharaj. The temple today continues to be looked after by the sons of this great family, and has an annual Teru (rathotsava) much to the delight of Rama Devotees beyond even our community. Janapriya Yakshagana Kala Mandali bears the unique distinction of being the only mandal that performs the traditional art form in Konkani apart from Kannada, Tulu and even English!
