An epic konkani comedy drama written 45 years back by Late Shri Kudpi Vasudev Shenoy is brought alive by his son Kudpi Rajanikanth Shenoy. At that era, nobody would have guessed that the drama would be enacted many years later in audio by a cast located in different parts of the world.. India..England..Indonesia.. name it in merely 6 days!; and would be broadcasted to the world over the Internet. What could be a better Fifth Anniversary celebration for Radio Idli! A big welcome to all the artists from Broad Minded Konkanis Facebook group.

BMK has many talented singers who have sung to perfection. Mukund Kamath is undoubtedly the ace singer of BMK Group. In this post, you may find the singing abilities of BMK members, but first let me start with Mukund Kamath’s funny Konkani song “Pai Mammale Kaama Challo” sung to the tune of “Chammak Challo” from Ra One. - ...

A naturally talented singer with voice training under his guru Vasanthi R Nayak of Swara Shree Kalaa Vedike Trust Mangalore, Shibrur Mukund Kamath, Managing Director of Ideal Ice Creams came out with a song for Kokke Boys, “Thingalavre B Song” based on Kolaveri D by Dhanush.
The parody explains various steps in cooking Thingalavre B to perfection. It also explains how to get rid of the heaviness after one has sumptuous meal with Thingalavre B…that is with thin Buttermilk with phann(Seasoning).

Radio Idli is glad to welcome Kudpi Rajanikanth Shenoy as our esteemed contributor. Kudpimaam, as he is fondly known, is known to most online Saraswats through his omnipresence on social media.

The Kolaveri wave has swept the Karavali coast too.. and the result is Thingalavare Bi (Mangalorean white grams known for its taste and post-consumption acoustics)! The idea and lyrics for the song was conceived by Mukund Kamath, of Ideal Ice Cream fame in Mangalore. Kudpimaam, adds to this an amazing combination of his Multimedia skills! What's more?! Mukund Kamath's voice to the song is an "Ideal" cherry on the cake.. or should i say on the Ideal GadBad?! They say proof of the ice-cream is in eating.. Watch the video and the songa... thingalavare songa..

Kundya Kurkula - a common folk tale was enacted by Konkani children, and was widely received with full houses across locations including Udupi, Bhatkal, Bangalore, Honnavar, Kumta and Karwar. Being a close associate with the Kendra for its online initiatives, Radio Idli takes great pleasure in featuring videos of the drama uploaded by the Vishwa Konkani Kendra.
A Konkani song (Anonymous poet) explaining one such occasion where Lord Krishna convinced His own mother Yashoda of His divine powers. The scene of Krishna showing the entire world in His small mouth is well narrated by many poets in different languages. Here the poet links the incident with a Ganesh Pooja performed by Yashoda who observed a fasting but same time prepared Modaks for Naivedya. What followed is better heard in this song itself.

Late Sri.P.G.Kamath wrote the song “Devaa Tuje…” 25 years ago, in 1985, to include the song in Konkani Geet Chandrika audio cassette brought out by Kerala Konkani Academy. The lyrics of 8 lines are simple Konkani translation of the initial shloka of Ganapati Atharvasheersham starting “Bhadram Karnebhi…”.

That time the singer was a student, Sri. Muralidhar Shenoy from Kochi. Later in 2003, when P.G.Kamath’s anthology of poems titled “POVLLIM” was published, the prayer song was included in the book. And, during the GSB ...
