March 24, 2007
Venue: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai

Great Music luminaires from our Saraswat community shined bright at the event conducted by Swar Sadhana Samiti, which was generous enough to hold it with free of cost entrance. We were also not hindered from taking pictures of the event. Please find below a humble attempt to present snippets of the event as captured by my humble digital camera. click the link:

It was a great opportunity to photograph and hear the concert of great Indian Percussion exponents like Pt. Sadanand Naimpalli and Pt. Omkar Gulvady. It felt great to watch the concert with a proud son – Abhang Gulvady, seated along with us who later introduced us to his father and to the other great artists like Tabla Maestro Jayesh Rege. It was a great experience to hear and have a close conversation with the great artists.

We also had the pleasure of hearing the legend of Shri Jitendra Abhisheki brought alive in full brilliance by his son, Shri Shaunak Abhisheki which was a grand finale to the whole show.
