Mahalakshmi Shenoy is a young and accomplished classical artist from our samaaj. Her musical performances shine forth with the grace of Indian classical music – both Hindustani as well as Carnatic. . Radio Idli celebrates today by featuring one of her great performance videos

Mahalakshmi was initiated into music at a very young age. She began her training in Carnatic music under Vidwan Vyasakrishna Upadhyaya at Karkala. She made her transition and gained excellence in Hindustani classical discipline under tutelage of great masters like, Vidwan Yogish Baliga, Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt (of Grammy awards and Vishwamohan Veena fame), and Pt. Ramarao Nayak of Goa.

Mahalakshmi Shenoy has received many accolades including the title of “Surmani” conferred upon her by the Mumbai Sursingar Sansad.
