Part 2 - Dr. Kiran Shirlal’s magical rendition

After making listeners spellbound with “Mata Kaalika”, a composition in Raag Adaana, Dr. Shirlal presents to us another divine Raaga which is popularly sung in both Hindustani as well as Carnatic Disciplines.

The Raaga is named Malkauns in Hindustaani and Hindolam in Carnatic. There are quite a few popular old hindi songs based on this Raag which include “Man Tadapat Hari Darshan ko Aaj” - from Baiju Bawra sung by Mohd. Rafi Sahaab.

Back home we have compositions like “Madhukara Vritti yennadu (Shri Vidyabhushan)” and “Anudina ninna nenedu (Puttur Narasimha Nayak)” which are very popularly heard in our bhajan ensembles.

May this composition, The Raag and its Singer - Dr. Shirlal, keep you spell bound during the divine festival of 9 nights!
