Sunil Kamath is a pearl who discovered himself at a GSB youth festival in Mumbai. Upon being coaxed by his friends, he participated in the music competition where he bagged the first prize. His voice has a charachteristic high-pitch ease which is apt for good sufi based songs. Sunil also made a splendid performance at the Foundation Day of GSB Sabha Mumbai where Radio Idli was given a golden opportunity to perfor.

We wish Sunil many more musical successes and many more great performances for him, and for our community to celebrate!

Krishna Shenoi

Meet Krishna Shenoi - a 15 years old genius amongst GSB child prodigies - he is on the threshold of teenage.  He is studying in the Millennium School, Dubai. He has a younger sister Susmita who is an 8th gr

ade student of the same school. They are the lovely kids of Mr. Bala Shenoi & Mrs. Sandhya Shenoi.
Krishna is a multifaceted personality. He has a good number of hobbies - videography, photography, swimming, drawing, painting and story writing.

And none of this is with compromising on the regular studies. He is at ease in all these pastimes. He has even named his amateur film production venture as “Shenoi Pictures” with a nice emblem/logo as well. His web site channels the broadcast of his short films.

His self introduction is well presented in the following web link :

Some more short video movies can be accessed thru ‘Videos’ folder in the above link. He has a good collection of India’s funniest music videos.

Krishna says : “I’m just an everyday kid with three exceptions — I draw well, I write well, and I make movies”.

He has won several prizes in painting, drawing and story writing. Not only in the school but also in contests and events held outside. His short movie clips of ‘Twins fight’ and ‘Chair drive’ are funny. During the making of the ‘Giant Visual’, Krishna spent over five hours for a perfect audio-visual end product lasting just 15 seconds.

That shows his dedicated and researched homework in the movie making, indicating that he is really serious with the art and not a simple ‘time pass’ approach. His recent addition is a song on Indian Independence Day.

Pravin KamathPravin Kamath, affectionately known as Pravin Da amongst our founding members has always been an encouraging supporter.

Pravin Da’ brings to us an interview that he took of Shri Kochi Ananth Bhat, duly videographed by his son Neeraj at the Vashi Balaji Mandir, where  Chaturmasya celebrations of Shrimad Sudhindra Teertha Swamiji of Shri Kashi Muth Samsthan was in progress.

Shri Ananth Bhatmaam, has composed numerous bhajans and Bhaavgeet in Konkani language, which is among the largest konkani contribution in poetry and devotional literature. In this context, we also respectfully bow towards the gigantic statures of Bhadragiri Achuth Dasji and Keshav Dasji, who have granted us the nectar of Harikatha in konkani, apart from english and kannada.

Kindly view the interview below

directions: press the play button. If the video doesnt play continuos.. press the pause button after pressing play.. allow the movie to load for sometime as indicated by a red line and then press play again.. the movie would play continuous.

Shri Ananth Bhatmaam’s bhajans are popularly sung amongst GSB households which include “Amgelo Devu Shri Vyasu Raghupati” and many which have been duly rendered by great Saraswat singers like Pandit Upendra Bhat-maam and Shri Puttur Pandurang Nayak-maam.

Ananth-maam’s magnificent works includes a Konkani translation of Shri Ramcharita Maanas in the same rhythmand context as the orignal composition in Brijbhaasha hindi.

Radio Idli will continue to bring more content regarding Bhatmaam, while we offer this post with due respect towards his greatness which he expresses with divine humbleness.

Regards,

Nagesh Pai
