The post here is about how the medium of internet can bring together members our our community with strong bonds of friendship, inspite of geographic distances.

About the Vharetu (Groom)

Mahesh Rao, Based in the US, would regularly check the meets and activities of Idli house council, our group. He always wished that he would be a part of our merry activities and was in regular touch with us through the internet.

Well in advance, he took the efforts of informing and following up with members of the group, to attend his marriage. When we arrived at the event, what touched us the most is that he remembered each of our names from our photographs which he saw on our orkut group.

Mahesh’s affection to the group makes this a very special event to all of us here.

We celebrate this joyous day (turning night) of our friend Mahesh and wish Him and his wife, Amrutha a very happy married life!!

Please find below a photograph slide show of the occassion:

Ashwin Kini shares with us his collection. During the marriage ceremony we were doing two distinct things - clicking snaps and looking at each other’s cameras. Ashwin’s pictures completes our collection

Video taken through Digicam, kindly excuse the quality.

Hope to see many more of us happily settled :-)

Ms. Geeta Khanolkar - A professional, live in concert (Mumbai)

It is our privilege to have a voice of a professional on our blog, thanks to her close relative, Ms. Smita Nalkoor, who sent us her live recording. Srikala, Ms. Nalkoor’s daughter if you recall made a very nice debut last week.

The audio quality is average due to live recording, but the song is divine!

She rocked mumbai in Voice of Mumbai competition, then she rocked the nation through “Khelo Gao Jeeto” Show. Even amidst her busiest schedules, she has been rocking Radio Idli all the time, giving immense delight to all our listeners here!

What drives her is the call from our hearts to hear more from her. She reciprocates by singing — Yeh Dil Sun raha hai tere dil ki Pukaar.

My little knowledge of kannada makes me grasp an expression of enthusiasm in this song, which is apt for the festive season when we hoist our spirits!
